Hey hey! I'd like to personally WELCOME you to Life, Laughter, and the Pathetic (and Somewhat Comical) Pursuits of a Hopeless Romantic Mormon Girl! (Yeah, I know the title's long. But, I like it. And so does my room mate. So. There. :)
For the record, it was my friend's idea to start this blog. I, on my own, would never had DREAMED of starting a blog to record my follies and pathetic but somewhat comical experiences of searching for love and well, life. But, my friends, who know all (or almost all....) of my love life stories, all but INSISTED I start this blog. Because, well, if you have a talent (for being awkward?) then you might as well share it (spread the awkward love, baby!).
In this blog, you can expect to find experiences of real life, which I hope will cause true laughter, because most of the stories are a hopeless romantic Mormon girl's comical (and somewhat pathetic) pursuits to find true love. (Wow...that really is a mouthful. ) Also, I intend to spread some of the Glorious and TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ and expound how to incorporate it into your own search for love:). Unless of course, you've already found your heart's duet, then it will just be fun for you to read. :)
So. Of course, I have a man. But the real question is....am I his girl? This is the immortal question. For now, my man is out serving the Lord and saving souls. Which is, you know, GREAT....but I still wish he was kind of here. With me. In the rain. OR the temple. Hmm....the temple sounds good. :)
I couldn't help it. This is totally something I would do. (If I had the guts to...haha now that's a different story...;)
So, of course, I have to tell you the story of how we soul mates met. :) Here is a glimpse...more to come. No worries! :) So buckle up and grab some tissues...this one's good!
And then he came. The flaming tiki torches spread gloomy light through the backyard, allowing me to barely make out his silhouette. It's him. I know it. My lungs shakily filled with air. Suddenly doubt filled my mind. True, I had only see him in pictures before this...I could be totally wrong.
Hushed, I inquired after the source of all knowledge (AKA my best friend.)
"Maryanne...is that HIM?" She paused her conversation with another graduation party attender and half glanced across the yard. Squinting her eyes, and moving her head position to get a better view, I waited, eyes locked on her face. Then she elbowed me HARD in the gut and in the loudest whisper possible she exclaimed,
"OH my gosh it's totally HIM!!!" Screaming inside, I took another shaky breath. My heart danced as I stole another glance in the dim light and then looked down to the safety of my phone. He's even cuter than the pictures, I thought. And taller. Taller is good. :)
